Every writer, even those who enjoy distraction-free writing environments, can’t break free from one powerful distraction, the end result. I myself read and re-read my texts time and again. I want to get the feeling of reading my story as if I was reading it for the first time. A pointless exercise of course, but hard to escape from. I used to print out the pages I had finished just to see how it would look on paper and then I would change a couple of sentences and printed them out again. I wasted tons of paper that way.
But now I’m writing ebooks and everything has changed. My printer is gathering dust. Thanks to two great features of Eboocz I can indulge in this guilty pleasure easier than ever. Of course there is the Create Ebook! button that quickly produces a new ePub file that I can open in my favorite e-reader software. Is there another piece of software where you can view the result this fast? Probably not. But that’s not the feature I wanted to talk about. Eboocz has a very nice Preview feature sitting right next to the Create Ebook! button. It’s the Preview eye and clicking it will show you a browser window with your text fully formatted according to the style and style template you have chosen.
It’s a great way to check if you like a certain template style, but be aware there are certain limits. For instance, the images are resized to fit the preview screen, so don’t worry if they’re of low resolution. In your final ebook they will have the right size.
Also, the preview screen is a browser window, but it’s not intended to be used as a regular browser. If you follow links in the preview screen, they will open in your default browser.
But the Preview option is still a great way to check if the style you selected is to your liking. Change the style, check the preview and then continue writing. No need to create an ebook and check it time and agin in your e-reader software. Eboocz, made easy. Thanks to the tiny Preview button.
